Formed by a group of university friends after a trip to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Off the Cuff has grown to become a fixture on Brighton’s comedy scene, performing across the town in venues diverse as the Joogleberry Playhouse (now the Latest Music Bar), The Brunswick, Upstairs at Three and Ten, Brighton Komedia and the home of their current residency, Otherplace at The Basement.

Since 2005 they have performed in 10 consecutive Brighton Fringe Festivals, gaining rave reviews for their inventive and imaginative show formats, and in 2010 they made their Edinburgh Fringe début with ‘Bingo! It’s Off the Cuff!’. This year sees their second stint in the Camden Fringe (after a sell-out 2014 run) with ‘Off the Cuff: Primetime’, featuring their most daring creation yet: the improvised TV-style detective drama ‘Crime And Funishment’.

2013 saw Off the Cuff move further afield to do shows in London and along the south coast, as well as branching out into the UK music festival scene, their irreverent and quick-witted improv comedy style going down a treat at a growing list of acclaimed events including Nozstock and Larmer Tree festivals.

Having held a popular monthly hometown residency at Upstairs at the Three & Ten (Best Venue Award Brighton Fringe 2008 & 2009, Chortle Award for Best Venue in the South 2010) for six years, in early 2015 this was upscaled to respected venue Otherplace at The Basement and expanded into a two-hour show, enabling Off the Cuff to present some of the most innovative and inclusive comedy nights around in collaboration with a host of top guests.

Off the Cuff’s popularity with audiences has been reflected in a slew of media coverage over the years, with recommendations and positive reviews across the local press and interviews on Juice FM, BBC Sussex, FUBAR radio and London Live TV.

In September 2015 Off the Cuff are set to celebrate their 10th birthday with the ultimate party: an all-day festival of improv, stand-up, theatre and more in Brighton.
